The newest water saving irrigation controllers are the "ET" controllers.

Evaporation/Transpiration refers to simply replacing daily water losses matched to temperatures, wind, humidity, soil type, slope, plant types, and exposure.

During actual operation over the last four years they can save a minimum of 23% with up to 68% over prior years use. This depends upon the age and efficiency of the irrigation systems.

The system I prefer is pictured with the control panel and the independent weather station which sends a daily signal to the controller.

The system automatically adjusts run times for each station on a daily basis thus savings lots of water and money.

Of the last 15 systems I have installed they all have paid for themselves within one irrigation season
